Fear No Number is a math confidence academy dedicated to empowering students, parents, and educators through innovative math education. We offer a range of services including interactive workshops for parents that foster a supportive learning environment at home and tailored lessons and coaching for teachers to enhance their math curricula,and resources. Our mission is to build a community where numbers are embraced, not feared, and where every child can thrive in their mathematical journey.

Akin Alston
Akin Alston is the architect of MAP™ and Founder of Engageable Designs. With 30 years in mathematics education, partnerships
across Seattle Public Schools, Philadelphia Public Schools, Highline Public Schools, and university positions at North Seattle College and Seattle University, he has built a working system to boost math confidence in children and adults across the Pacific Northwest.
Akin Alston is well known to have an innovative, charismatic, and unconventional approach to mathematics teaching and learning. He is constantly developing new community-based initiatives and services to
support higher mathematics achievement in communities of color. Alston works continually to develop professional relationships with an extensive network of educators, legislators, advocates, and professionals in many STEM relevant fields, as well as parents with the shared desire to reform our nation’s educational system and standards of achievement. He dreams of a
nationwide mathematics renaissance where students simply learn the love of doing mathematics.

Akin Alston is the founder of Zeno Math, a non-profit based in Seattle, WA. Zeno exists to ensure that kids of color have access to a strong math foundation - and all of the education and career opportunities that come along with it. Zeno provides our partners a flexible program that is rooted in cultural understanding, community knowledge, and personal connection.
